The strength of Meals on Wheels PLUS is remarkable. It began with one community challenge of feeding homebound seniors in 1972 and has grown into the organizational support network of today which encompasses many more services than just the home-delivered meal program.

The Capital & Endowment Campaign was established to encourage optimum community support for the Senior Enrichment Center as well as provide funding to continue to build intergenerational programs and services that assist seniors, young families, children and infants in Manatee County. Through a variety of volunteer, civic, and educational programs, the Capital & Endowment Campaign promotes a sense of belonging and nurtures a strong community spirit.

We are now seeking $5 million to fully refurbish and equip the Senior Enrichment Center located at 1816 9th Street West in downtown Bradenton, plus establish new endowment funds to pay for operating expenses.

Naming and dedication opportunities to memorialize or honor a loved one are amply available through the Senior Enrichment Center. Endowment funds may also be selected and named in perpetuity with a minimum donation of $10,000. All donors may make pledges over five years if desired. Why A Capital & Endowment Campaign?

Although receiving some operating funds from local and Federal governing bodies, over 60 percent of the Meals on Wheels PLUS funds needed must be raised through local donations, grants and fund raising projects.

The Meals on Wheels PLUS Capital & Endowment Campaign will make a difference in Manatee County by enabling monetary donors or volunteers to experience:
