Empty Bowls 2010 Benefit Luncheon

Help fight hunger in Manatee County by attending the 10th Annual Empty Bowls Luncheon! Select a beautiful, hand-crafted ceramic bowl made by ArtCenter Manatee and local potters to keep, and then enjoy a variety of gourmet soups donated by local restaurants. Publix Super Markets, First Bank, and the Highwater Clay Company are supporting the event with fresh-baked bread, bottled water, and the clay used to make the ceramic bowls. Music will be provided by Chuck Caudill at the Renaissance on 9th event. Radio station 92.1 will be giving out prizes and adding to the fun at the Lakewood Ranch event.
Marauders Throw Clay!
Members of the Bradenton Marauders Single A Baseball team attended art class at ArtCenter Manatee to make ceramic bowls for benefit luncheon on October 21 at Renaissance on 9th.
With assistance from ArtCenter Manatee pottery instructor Abigail Akers, players Calvin Anderson, Casey Erickson, Noah Krol, and Matt McSwain created ceramic bowls for the first time.
Thank you to our favorite team!

17th Annual Tropical Nights Fundraiser was held on April 10th, 2010
More than 300 guests supported Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee as they enjoyed the celebration on April 10, 2010, at the home of William and Peggy Robinson in northwest Bradenton. Guests were welcomed to a breathtaking waterside location, and treated to incredible food and tropical drinks, as well as commemorative beach photos, henna tattoos, live music, and an opportunity to purchase items from our “Wish List.”
“We look forward to this event for months and are honored that Bill and Peggy Robinson shared their beautiful home with us,” said President & CEO Ellen Campbell, “This is a rewarding celebration, our donors have a wonderful evening while contributing to Meals on Wheels Plus, and I am so thankful for their generosity as well as community support. There is always a need for additional funding, and next year we hope to get even more individuals and organizations involved.”
